Oh, How the Mighty Have Fallen.

Hollywood writers are currently on strike as negotiations have stalled leading to uncertainty regarding the future of many popular TV shows and streaming services.

As a result, many TV executives and showrunners have been left scrambling as many series prepare for what to do next should the strike inevitably continue.

Of course, this brings a lot of interesting questions regarding the showrunner of Yellowstone - Taylor Sheridan. In the past, Sheridan has been a champion for writers (acting as one himself) and also for the 'working man.'

Accordingly, many people are curious to see how a man who has recently developed a 'God complex' while commanding the set of Yellowstone will respond to yet another production delay.

Sheridan is a writer which means he supports the WGA strike, right?

Not so fast. Sheridan may have captured the imagination of audiences rising from a struggling cowboy and writer to one of the most accomplished personalities on television, but that doesn't mean he'll support the WGA strike.

Indeed, the 52-year-old from North Carolina wrote most of the original episodes of Yellowstone, which makes some viewers believe that he'll support TV writers and refuse to produce new content until they are granted high wages and more workers' rights in return.

Unfortunately, that may not be how it actually goes down. As many on Reddit have acknowledged, Sheridan has always put himself first. Thus, supporting the WGA strike will likely come secondary to any pursuit of earning more money.

Yellowstone creator is full of greed, selfish ambitions

These days, Sheridan takes a lot of flack from viewers. For starters, he hears it from disgruntled Yellowstone fans that feel like the first half of season five was a major drag, only to let audiences down further by delaying the release of the remaining episodes.

Even worse, it's all over a petty feud with Kevin Costner in which many on the set of Yellowstone believe Sheridan has developed a God complex.

Thus, it should come as no surprise if Sheridan does not take the high road. The refusal to conclude Yellowstone, when it has been obvious the show has suffered the last couple of seasons, along with his insistence on producing as many spin-offs as conceivable, leads many to believe Sheridan will take money over loyalty.

Yellowstone fans have turned on Sheridan

The days when Sheridan felt he could do no wrong are over. The Yellowstone showrunner can't even get along with his cast, let alone the fans, many of whom lost respect for the man years ago.

Tragically, one must hope this will not be the type of ending where Sheridan turns his back on the very people, like himself, that are responsible for the content that satisfies and entertains audiences.

It's yet another recent setback for Yellowstone, which has been marred in controversy since the beginning of the year. Now, with the WGA strike looming, it's really difficult to forecast when (and if) Yellowstone will ever return.
