Although it is a six-episode miniseries, the Bridgerton prequel has every chance of becoming a recurring show.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is dominating the Netflix charts and keeping viewers glued to their screens. And all Bridgerverse fans have only one question: will we ever see young Charlotte and George again?

The story of the Bridgerton prequel focuses on the first year of Charlotte and George's marriage, which is complicated by the King's mysterious illness and the intolerance of the London ton.

While the main storyline is well-developed and feels complete, it still leaves many details of the royal couple's lives untouched and is set decades before the present time of the Bridgerverse when we meet the older Charlotte. So technically, additional seasons of the spin-off covering those years are more than possible.

However, the iconic creator of Bridgerton and its prequel, Shonda Rhimes, is not yet sure if she would be willing to do another dive behind the doors of Buckingham Palace. In an interview with EW, Rhimes said it's a question she's been asked a lot but isn't ready to answer just yet.

'I could live with Charlotte and George forever, but we told a very specific, closed-ended story that I think is a complete tale of this complicated, imperfect love,' Rhimes said. 'But I'm not ruling anything out because I never know.'

If ratings are any indication, Queen Charlotte's performance definitely shows that viewers want more. Netflix has reported that, in a partial first week since its May 4 premiere, the miniseries was watched by approximately 22 million viewers worldwide. More than that, it seems the audience liked what they saw. The show's Rotten Tomatoes audience score is 85%, and its IMDb rating is 7.4/10 with over 9K votes.

As for the cast, who are now enjoying the wave of fame and fan love, some of them have already confirmed that they would be happy to reprise their roles in possible future seasons. Arsema Thomas, who played young Lady Danbury, Freddie Dennis and Sam Clemmett, who portrayed the Bridgerverse's first LGBTQ+ couple, Reynolds and Brimsley, and especially India Amarteifio, who is being praised for her performance as young Charlotte — all said they would love to return to 18th-century alternate England.

Fingers crossed!
