Dancing with the Stars lit up Season 34 on October 21, 2025 with Wicked Night: ten celebs channeled Broadway, Jon M. Chu joined the panel, the season’s first perfect 10s landed — and one star’s run ended in a shock elimination.

DWTS leaned hard into green on October 21 with its 'Wicked Night' episode, and the show did what it loves most: big themes, bigger scores, and one result that made people yell at their TVs. Director Jon M. Chu (yep, the guy behind the Wicked movie) slid in as guest judge alongside Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli, while 10 celebs took on songs from the Broadway behemoth. The first perfect 10s of Season 34 finally dropped, and the elimination... oof.

Who went home

Scott Hoying and Rylee Arnold were the ones sent packing after their Contemporary to 'The Wizard and I.' They became the fifth couple eliminated this season, with the decision based on two weeks of combined viewer votes totaling more than 100 million. So yes, the audience really showed up — just not enough to save them.

'It’s meant everything. I’m so incredibly grateful for this.'

'You did amazing this season. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner and I love you.'

The exit landed right after a genuinely sweet reveal earlier in the broadcast: Scott and his husband, Mark Hoying, are expecting their first child via surrogate.

Top of the leaderboard (and the season’s first 10s)

Whitney Leavitt and pro Mark Ballas owned the night with 39 points and the first 10s of the season for a routine inspired by 'Popular.' Derek called it 'discovering a star before our eyes,' and Bruno went full superlative with 'insanely good.' Right there with them: Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa, who tied for the lead with a rumba to 'For Good.' Carrie Ann’s take was simple: 'perfection.'

Right behind the leaders, Robert Irwin and Witney Carson posted 36 points on their jazz number and kept their momentum going. And Andy Richter and Emma Slater hit their season best with 27 points — not a night-topping score, but enough to carry them through on fan support.
