Who Wore It Better? Ranking the 10 Best Outfits From Bridgerton
It's hard to rank costumes on a show like Bridgerton.
What's 'better' – an incredible wig you'd never actually want to wear? Or one of Kate Sharma's more unremarkable (but simply gorgeous) gowns?
Here are 10 of the best outfits in Bridgerton, carefully selected from literally thousands of hand-made ensembles. Some are great because they're beautiful, some because they made us laugh – but all of them were total showstoppers.
10. Portia's Dress of All Colors (S2, E7: 'Harmony') It's impossible to choose only one of Portia Featherington's gaudy outfits, so we'll go with this little number. Like many of her gowns it's shiny, multicolored, and kind of beautiful while still being totally over the top.
9. Eloise's Satin Look (S2, E1: 'Capital R Rake') The thing is… if Eloise wasn't so uncomfortable, she'd look incredible in this ensemble.
8. Cressida Cowper's Outrageous Crown (S1, E3: 'The Art of the Swoon') This headpiece showcased Cressida's wealth and elegance while simultaneously demonstrating how vulgar she really is. Nobody could take their eyes off the beautiful monstrosity.
7. Marina's Yellow Ball Gown (S1, E3: 'The Art of the Swoon') Lady Featherington loves to dress her daughters in horribly bright clothing, but her color of choice actually works stunningly on Marina Thompson – much to Lady Featherington's chagrin.
6. Benedict's Pall Mall Outfit (S2, E3: 'A Bee in Your Bonnet') Benedict stands out from the more staid gentlemen on the show with a blue jacket and floral vest. Handsome, fun, and artistic – it's a perfect outfit for this character, and nobody else could have pulled it off.
5. A Hunting We Will Go (S2, E4: 'Victory') Everything about this look is magnificent, from the deep blue to the jaunty top hat. It looks equally good while Kate is riding a horse or striding through the forest.
4. Queen Charlotte's Rose Outfit (S2, E8: 'The Viscount Who Loved Me') The Queen's signature style is at its best here, when it's not quite outrageous enough to be silly. Extra points if you noticed the roses camouflaged in her wig.
3. Simon's Paisley Vest (S1, E4: 'An Affair of Honour') Simon always dressed in understated elegance, but this high-collared vest paired with a black shirt was a real highlight. It looks just as good under a burgundy waistcoat later in the episode.
2. Kate's Beautiful Purple Dress (S2, E8: 'The Viscount Who Loved Me') Bridgerton's costumers made a point of nodding to the Sharmas' Indian background with the patterns and fabrics they chose for those characters. Nowhere did it pay off better than in the finale of Season 8, where Kate wore this gorgeous dress to her second Pall Mall game.
1. Lady Danbury's Ruff (S1, E1: 'Diamond of the First Water') Lady Danbury always looks elegant and regal, but this deep purple matched with a gorgeous ruff… chef's kiss.
