Who Plays Chloe in The Idol? Here's Where You've Seen Suzanna Son Before
The actress and musician has had a few roles before the Max show.
The third episode of The Idol has just been released on Max, and the show has kept right on stirring controversy. It somehow manages to be over-the-top and boring at the same time, and viewers keep complaining about it. The consensus is that The Idol is a mediocre show at best, and nobody would be watching it if it wasn't for The Weeknd's production and involvement.
Nonetheless, this Max show has a couple of trump cards up its sleeve. Namely, the stellar cast is something few new original shows can boast. Apart from Abel Tesfaye, The Idol stars Lily-Rose Depp, Troye Sivan, Jennie R. Jane, Dan Levy, and Suzanna Son. While the first five names are well-known in the TV and music industry, the last one is relatively unknown.
The reason for that is Suzanna Son has not been around for long. She's only 27 and hasn't appeared in many projects yet. Arguably, the part of Chloe on The Idol is Son's biggest role so far (some might feel sorry for her for that reason). If you're wondering where you may have seen her or if you want to see her in something less mediocre than The Idol, we've compiled a short list of her projects for you, comprising two items complete with IMDB scores.
Secret Escort (2019, 2.5)
Suzanna Son played the main role in this low-rated movie. She portrayed Clarissa, an escort whom the other central character, Gavin, couldn't stop seeing because of his sexual disorder. The film was even more controversial than The Idol, and the jury is still out on whether it helped or damaged Suzanna's career.
Red Rocket (2021, 7.1)
Suzanna got luckier when she played Strawberry in Red Rocket, the protagonist's underage love interest, a role as controversial as Suzanna's other outings. It's as if Suzanna was seeking out controversial roles, so it's no wonder that she ended up on The Idol: the word must have already got around in Hollywood that if you want to send out a loud and clear message that your project is supposed to be controversial, you have got to cast Suzanna Son in it.
Apart from acting, Suzanna Son also dabbles in music. She has released two music videos for her songs – Birthday Boy (2018) and Suzanna Son for Exposures (2021). Given her movie preferences, we will likely see her in many more small-budget indie productions.
