So where did Whoopi go?

Back in her seat on the December 1, 2025 episode (via E! News), the Oscar winner said she spent the break in Naples shooting a guest role on the long-running Italian soap Un Posto Al Sole. Co-host Ana Navarro joked that Whoopi had come back sounding like she forgot English, and Whoopi basically agreed that her brain was still somewhere over the Atlantic.

"I don't know what language I'm thinking in. What time zone I'm in?"

First-time soap, new country, new language

At 70, she called the gig a genuinely good experience. She had never done a soap before, and doing it overseas, in a different language, threw a new kind of challenge at her. That part, she loved. She even brought receipts, showing her co-hosts videos from the set just to make sure nobody thought she was on a pasta tour instead of working.

Italy is beautiful, the weather was not

She did not get the sunny postcard version of Naples. According to Whoopi, it poured. Not a cute drizzle either — we are talking daily rain, storms, thunder, the whole thing. Even with that, the job went smoothly.
