The Dutton family saga continues for CBS viewers.

Created by the most hypermasculine cowboy of our time, Taylor Sheridan, Yellowstone is an example that other producers and writers should look to when creating their own projects in the Western (or Neo-Western) genre. Gunfights, brown felt cowboy hats, intrigue, bureaucracy and corruption, as well as family traumas and feuds, set against the beautiful backdrop of Montana – that is Yellowstone.

Unfortunately, it looks like it will be a while before we see the final chapter in the Dutton family ranching saga, Season 5, Part 2. First, the WGA strike broke out, then we learned (along with the entire history of the conflict) that Kevin Costner was leaving the show, and then the possibility of resuming production was delayed by SAG-AFTRA members joining the writers on the picket lines.

But the show's rebroadcast on CBS makes the agonizing wait a little easier - especially since it won't be long before the final episode of Season 1 airs on TV.

Yellowstone Season 1 on CBS

Until now, the series has been available primarily to traditional TV devotees – Yellowstone is available on cable through the Paramount Network. Of course, Peacock's streaming service subscribers can already watch all four and a half seasons released so far.

But with the series now on the Paramount Global-owned CBS, a standard broadcast network, an even larger audience than ever before can enjoy Sheridan's flagship series. The only difference is a certain amount of censorship, as broadcast standards differ from cable TV.

Season 1 Finale Schedule

According to CBS, the final episode of Season 1 of Yellowstone, the second half of the double-feature The Unraveling, will air as early as Sunday, October 22. The Unraveling: Part 2 will air at 9 pm. ET. Be sure to tune in!

Will Season 2 Air on CBS?

Of course, this begs the logical question: will CBS continue to air the next seasons? With the entire Fall 2023 schedule being tremendously scarce due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, it's important for broadcast networks to fill time slots due to the lack of new scripted shows. In addition, reruns of the first season have been incredibly successful on TV, averaging 4-5 million viewers. And that's despite the show being streamed on Peacock!

So, while there is no official confirmation yet, it's very likely that Paramount will continue bringing Yellowstone to CBS users.
