For example, one of the biggest revelations of Season 5 was Lizzie's pregnancy with Denny's child, which resulted in the two characters getting engaged. However, since Lizzie was involved with Ricky, many people are wondering if the baby is his. Here's what Grayson Gurnsey, who plays the man on the show, has to say about it.

How Would Ricky React If the Baby Were His?

'[Given] how he was written in the books, he would have been super protective and wanted to make sure that she keeps the baby. But IMO, I think that Ricky and Rick (from the books) are kinda different people,' Grayson Gurnsey wrote on Reddit during a recent AMA session with fans.

'I think Ricky would probably have reacted something to the effect of not wanting it because they are young (which would be a great point of tension between Ricky and Lizzie) and it's interfering with his plan to go into the Marine Corps and so on.'

And that fits well with Ricky's character. As one of the most annoying people in Virgin River, he would definitely spoil the moment. Maybe that is why the writers chose Denny as the baby daddy, because the show had enough drama and needed something light, warm and cheerful. However, the actor seems optimistic, saying that regardless of Ricky's initial reaction to Lizzie's pregnancy, he would eventually come to terms with it and Virgin River's bliss would be restored.

'He would eventually come to see Lizzie's POV. I'm basically just writing fan fiction at this point but that's what I think would have happened,' Guernsey concluded.

Now the audience is looking forward to seeing Lizzie and Denny get married and start a family under the careful supervision of Doc and Hope. As for Ricky, he still has to learn about the whole pregnancy thing.
