Love Island UK alum and musician Wes Nelson has blasted London after a second robbery in 10 months, lamenting what the city has become as thieves made off with his prized golf bag and clubs.

Wes Nelson is officially over London. The Love Island 2018 alum and current musician says he has been robbed twice in ten months, and the latest hit was personal: someone walked off with his entire golf bag and clubs. He vented on Instagram and did not sugarcoat it.

Another theft, another headache

"My full golf bag/clubs etc have been stolen. I actually hate what London has become. Twice in a year. Cheers."

That was the 27-year-old on his Stories after the new theft. He didn't offer extra details about when or where it happened, but the point landed. He's fed up. And frankly, after a year of headlines about robberies and high-profile targets, you can see why he's not in a forgiving mood.

The January train robbery that started this run

Back in January 2025, Nelson had his £8,570 Louis Vuitton bag stolen while traveling by train as it stopped at Milton Keynes. He called it a split-second thing on Instagram and warned people how fast it can happen. He also posted a photo of his bags in the overhead rack and described how the thief eased the bag out of sight, then nabbed it at the first stop. He said it was the first time he'd ever used the overhead storage and swore off it for good.

  • When: January 2025, on a train that stopped at Milton Keynes
  • What was taken: a £8,570 Louis Vuitton bag
  • How: the bag was in the overhead rack; the thief slid it back and took it at the first stop
  • What he almost lost: his unreleased music — he had pulled his MacBook out before the trip, which ended up saving it
  • Lesson learned: he says he'll never use the overhead racks again

Why you won't see him on Love Island: All Stars

Despite being one of the more successful alums from the 2018 season, Nelson says he turned down an invitation to join Love Island: All Stars. On FUBAR Radio in January, he explained that he's in a relationship and just isn't interested in going back to the show. He also mentioned a surprising detail: when he returned to perform on the series with Craig David, simply being in the villa — the sights and the smell of the place — set off his anxiety. Glamorous TV, sometimes very much not. Former Islander Brad McClelland has said the villa can be rough in the day-to-day: damp cushions, old sunscreen lingering on everything, a mash-up of fake tan and heavy perfume, and not nearly enough toilets.

Music is the focus now

Since leaving the villa, Nelson has zeroed in on his music career. He signed with EMI Records in 2020 and has put out a run of singles, including Nice to Meet Ya and Say Nothing.
