What Are the Chances Young Royals Actors Will Actually Make It in Hollywood?
These up-and-coming Swedish actors are most likely to soon be starring in Hollywood movies and TV shows.
Swedish series, unfortunately, don't often gain international fame. However, they do seem to be getting more popular with every passing year. One prime example of a Swedish series becoming a global phenomenon would be the Netflix-produced Young Royals.
The show quickly became a hit on the streaming platform, with the first season landing in the top 10 in 12 countries and the second season achieving the same feat in 26 countries! Netflix has renewed it for a third and final season, further confirming Young Royals' global popularity.
Naturally, the show's been noticed in the US, and the exceptionally talented cast now stands a good chance of breaking into Hollywood. So, which actors are on the cusp of entering the American entertainment scene?
Malte Gårdinger
Whether you're a fan of August or not, Malte's skills in this role are undeniable. Malte is the son of Swedish TV host and actor Pontus Gårdinger. We all know that the American entertainment industry loves acting dynasties. However, there is a lot more to Malte than his family, seeing how, at just 20, he already has an impressive career in TV and film. He also ventured into music in 2021, and Hollywood loves performers with many talents.
Omar Rudberg
Omar is undeniably a Hollywood star in the making. As mentioned, the American industry values an actor's diversity. As a member of the Swedish boy band FO&O, Rudberg can sing and dance, captivating audiences with his stage presence. It brings to mind Harry Styles, who transitioned to top-tier films after One Direction (which, like FO&O, took an indefinite break). However, fans often compare him to Australian singer Troye Sivan, who has successfully become a Hollywood star.
Edvin Ryding
It would be remiss not to mention Edvin Ryding, the gifted actor behind the role of Wille. Edvin arguably has the best shot at breaking into the US film industry. He began his journey on Swedish television when he was just six years old. His talent has only improved since then, with roles in an increasing number of big films and series, as well as frequent voice-acting gigs.
With an impeccable American accent, he now has representation in the US and has taken multiple trips there, potentially for discussions or auditions. There's little doubt that, in the near future, he'll be rubbing shoulders with Hollywood's elite.
