Quick catch-up: that midseason finale
The last episode, 'Never Been CRISPR'd,' left things on one of the show's more eyebrow-raising science swings. After a CRISPR gene-editing stunt meant to be a 'love mod' goes sideways, Hobie's girlfriend collapses and ends up in a coma. Watson and his team unravel it and determine the culprit wasn't romance chemistry at all, but a bad mix in her system: fava beans and antibiotics. As in, that combo put her under. It was the midseason finale, so the show presses pause there until 2026.
