Watch Gen V Season 2 Now—or Kiss Season 3 Goodbye, Says The Boys Creator Eric Kripke

Season 3 hangs on season 2: the team is all-in, but only a surge in viewers will secure the next chapter.
Here is the situation with Gen V: Eric Kripke and showrunner Michele Fazekas have plans, momentum, and a Prime Video team that likes what they are doing. But if you want a season 3, the cold, boring reality is you actually have to stream season 2 right now, not 'when I get around to it' later.
"We are psyched about it, but we need enough viewers to watch season 2 to justify season 3... Turn on Prime and watch it now."
That is Kripke in a nutshell. He adapted Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson's comics into The Boys and opened the door for the college-set spinoff. Prime Video is on board, but it is still a business, and this is the window when viewership actually moves the renewal needle. Same story with Vought Rising: season 1 is meant to launch, and they already have ideas for a season 2 if the numbers back it up.
Where Gen V season 2 has taken a hard left
Season 2 has quietly turned into one of the show’s bigger lore dumps, and some of it is wild even by The Boys standards:
- Marie (Jaz Sinclair), Jordan (played by Derek Luh and London Thor), and Emma (Lizze Broadway) are clashing with Godolkin University’s new dean, a guy calling himself Cipher (Hamish Linklater) who is fixated on unlocking Marie’s supposedly limitless power.
- Marie turns out to be one of only two survivors of Thomas Godolkin’s Odessa Project, a set of experiments designed to forge 'super' Supes. The other survivor? Homelander.
- In the latest episode, Marie uses her blood-bending to heal a previously incapacitated Thomas Godolkin (Ethan Slater) — and accidentally helps the real puppetmaster. Godolkin has been controlling 'Cipher' from the shadows and is the one pushing to cull weaker Supes.
What Kripke is teasing beyond The Boys season 5
Kripke says there are plenty of stories left to tell with these characters, especially in the world that exists after The Boys season 5. He is clearly itching to toss the Gen V crew into that sandbox, where the rules are looser and the chaos is dialed up. Translation: if they get to keep going, expect bigger swings.
The clock on renewal
Gen V season 2 wraps up on Thursday, October 23. If you want a season 3, the ask is simple: stream season 2 now while Prime Video is actively clocking the numbers. That is the metric that decides whether we see the next chapter — for Gen V and for Vought Rising, too.
