Unlock Your Spot: How to Join the 4:Loop Playtest Today
Bad Robot Games channels Left 4 Dead energy into 4:Loop, a ruthless co-op shooter where your squad isn’t culling the infected—you’re racing to repair a shattered world. Fail, and the loop breaks for good.
Bad Robot Games is cooking up a co-op shooter called 4:Loop that riffs on that Left 4 Dead energy but swaps out zombies for a more sci-fi mission: squad up and literally try to unbreak the world. The studio says internal playtests are starting soon. No date yet, and it is not open to everyone. If you want in, you need an invite and a little luck.
What 4:Loop actually is
Think of it as a brand-new spin on a familiar idea: four-player teamwork, high stakes, and a goal bigger than just clearing a map. The pitch leans hard on that 'we cannot afford to fail' vibe. If you miss Left 4 Dead-style chaos but want something fresh in the mix, this sounds like it.
Playtest status: soon, invite-only
Here is the situation: internal playtests are on the way, but the developers have not announced the start date. It is not an open test. You need a special invite to get in. The queue is already long, so if you care, register now and hope your number gets called.
How to join the 4:Loop playtest
- Head to the official 4:Loop site from Bad Robot Games.
- Hit the 'Join the Playtest' button.
- When you are sent to Discord, log in with your account.
- Answer a few short, non-technical questions.
- Submit the form to get on the list.
After you sign up
Getting in the queue does not guarantee a slot. Selection is limited, so luck is part of it. If you are picked, the invite will go to the email you registered with. Keep an eye on your inbox and maybe give your spam folder a side-eye too, just in case.
Want better odds? Here is what helps (and what does not)
There is no magic key here, but being active in the community can raise your visibility. Join the official Discord, jump into surveys when they pop up, and share constructive feedback in the channels. None of that guarantees access, but if the team is choosing from familiar, engaged names, you are in a better spot than a ghost account.
If you have a soft spot for Left 4 Dead, this might scratch the itch in a new way. If you try for the playtest, let me know what platform you are aiming to use and whether you plan to drag three friends along or brave it with randos.
