Unlock the Yeti Outfit in GTA Online Fast: The Ultimate Yeti Hunt Guide

GTA Online is doing the festive thing again, and yes, the Yeti Hunt is back. The pitch is simple: go find the big hairy menace, put it down, and you walk away with a limited-time Yeti Outfit and a nice stack of cash. The part that trips people up is the clue hunt, which is intentionally sneaky. Here’s the straight-to-the-point version so you don’t waste an evening running circles in the woods.

How to start the Yeti Hunt

Head to the northern chunk of the map, roughly between Fort Zancudo and Paleto Bay. Once you’re in the neighborhood, you’ll get a text from someone named Tanner asking you to check out a creature in the woods. That text kicks off the event.

A big circle will pop up on your map with a question mark in the middle. This is the Chiliad wilderness search area. Your job: find 5 specific clues inside that circle, then take down the Yeti. Each clue you investigate pays out $10,000 and 1,000 RP, which is a pretty decent incentive for playing detective.

Where to find all 5 clues

• Deer Carcass: Go west of the circle’s center, down by the river. Follow the shoreline and you’ll spot a deer carcass up against some rocks.
• Body Parts: Also west of center, near the road below a bend. Look for a broken tree at the edge of a cliff; the remains are right under it.
• Car Wreck: East of the center, just below a bend in the road. Drop down off the bridge and you’ll see a wrecked car in front of a tree.
• Bloody Tent: Northwestern side of the search radius. Take the dirt road along the north edge until you spot a blue tent with a red sleeping bag and camping gear. It’s as messy as it sounds.
• Torn Shirt: Just north of the circle’s center, off a dirt road. Look in the ditch next to a destroyed vehicle for the shredded shirt.

How to make the Yeti show up (and survive it)

Once you’ve checked all five clues, the Yeti will start spawning in the search area. There’s a catch: it only appears between 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM in-game, and it will keep coming after you during that window until you drop it. When it’s closing in, you’ll see a red skull on your HUD.

Bring something loud. Miniguns are great. Sticky Bombs and Grenades also get the job done. The Yeti is quick, so keep moving and don’t let it close the gap. If it does manage to kill you, just respawn and wait for the nighttime window again. Eventually, enough lead solves the problem.

What you get for finishing the hunt

Kill the Yeti and you’ll bank $50,000 and unlock the Yeti Outfit. Perfect for haunting lobbies and bad selfies. The event runs through January 3, 2026, so don’t procrastinate too hard.
