Think unlocking Genesis Camo in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is simple? Try securing Chroma Flux on all 30 weapons after clearing every prerequisite camo challenge—this guide shows the fastest path.

Grinding for the Genesis camo in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 sounds straightforward on paper and then immediately stops being that. The game says: get Chroma Flux on all 30 weapons. Reality says: first clear a bunch of camo tiers with very specific challenges. The good news is there are a few spots and tricks that make the slog a lot faster.

The short version

You need Chroma Flux on all 30 weapons to unlock Genesis, which means finishing the earlier camo challenges tied to each gun. Before you start, pop open the mini-map and hit an upgrade station to juice your weapon first — the one at Guild Checkpoint Ping works — so your kills come easier and the time sink shrinks.

Where to knock out each challenge fast

  • Criticals (headshots): Run laps in Cliff Town. It is a Level 1 zone, enemies flood in, and most drop to one clean tap to the head. Circle the town, sweep from one side to the other, repeat.
  • Special eliminations: Go to the Colosseum and hunt Raiders. They spawn all over the place there and count toward Special elim requirements.
  • Drone eliminations: Start the Surveillance Control mission northeast of the Car Factory. Tag the main drone to wake it up — do not destroy it — and farm the unlimited mini-drones it spits out. You can finish this requirement in under five minutes. Yes, it feels a little goofy; no, the game doesn’t stop you.
  • Elite eliminations: Head to Low Town. Elites spawn throughout the area. Clear them, then leave and come back so they respawn, and keep cycling.
  • Guild eliminations and Tech kills: Stay in Low Town. Helicopters will show up and drop tech enemies; melt them as soon as they land and you will knock out both sets of requirements in the same loop.
  • Fear eliminations: Find a Quadcore Site in a Level 1 zone. These sites spawn Fear enemies. Complete an objective, leave the area, return, and the mission resets so you can farm endlessly.
  • The cleanup crew: The remaining asks are the usual tidbits: get kills shortly after sliding, use a 4x magnification sight for a certain number of eliminations, and similar housekeeping. Finish those across all your weapons, earn Chroma Flux on the full set of 30, and Genesis finally pops.

Are more camos coming later?

Right now there is no confirmation from Activision about adding more weapon camos or new camo challenges in future Black Ops 7 updates. If we are reading the tea leaves, it is a solid bet they will add more at some point — cosmetic grinds keep players engaged, and this entry could use the boost given its terrible reviews.

If you have already unlocked Genesis, I salute your patience. If you find a better farming route than the ones above, drop it in the comments so we can all shave a few hours off our lives a little more efficiently.
