The actresses' friendship is even stronger than their characters'.

It's been a little over a decade since the last installment of The Twilight Saga, based on Stephenie Meyer's bestselling novels, last hit the big screen. However, the film series has continued to pique the interest of fans, and it seems that the Twilight franchise will forever remain in the hearts of its cast as well.

A prime example of how Twilight has influenced the lives of its cast members is the friendship that developed between two main actresses involved in all five installments — Nikki Reed and Ashley Greene.

In the movies, the actresses played Rosalie Hale and Alice Cullen, who were also friends but apparently not as close as the stars who portrayed them.

Recently, Nikki posted a story with Ashley on her Instagram page, which showed fans just how warm the relationship between the two actresses are in real life.

In Twilight, Rosalie and Alice are adopted daughters of Carlisle and Esme Cullen, although the former is also Alice's sister-in-law because she is married to Emmett. However, the two 'sisters' seem to be even closer to each other than to Edward, spending much of their time together and sharing similar interests. Reed and Greene's characters often go shopping together and, over time, develop an affection for Bella and Edward's daughter, Renesmee.

Since the last movie, Ashley and Nikki have seen each other regularly and still maintain a close bond. A year ago, Greene invited her 'sister' to her own podcast, The Twilight Effect, where the actresses discussed their Twilight experiences for the first time in many years.

Notably, as Greene said, the cast did not get along with each other at first because of the minimal difference in age and the complexity of their personalities.

'Nikki and I went back and forth where we were cool and then we didn't want anything to do with each other and then we were cool again,' the star explained. Fortunately, over time, the actresses found common ground and became as much a family as they were in the films.

It's always nice to know that actors are as close in real life as their characters are on screen, especially when it comes to the cast of the fan-favorite Twilight Saga. Also, if the Twilight TV reboot does happen, it would be great to see both actresses making cameos in it!
