Twisted Metal Season 3 Tease Blows Up Online — Calypso's Dark Secret Is Coming

Twisted Metal just wrapped Season 2, and fans are already buzzing about what comes next.
The finale basically lit a neon sign that says: yes, Calypso is more than a shadowy guy with great timing. If we get a Season 3, the show wants to peel that onion.
Quick recap
- Season 2 premiered July 21, 2025 on Peacock and has been getting largely positive reactions from critics and viewers.
- Cast includes Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Mike Mitchell, Anthony Carrigan, and more.
- Peacock has not announced a Season 3 renewal yet.
So what was that finale tease about?
Showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith says the team intentionally dipped deeper into the supernatural this season, and that shift was their way of opening the door to Calypso’s true deal. One striking image they built the finale around: Calypso climbing out of a well. It is a bold visual swing for a show that started as a scrappy road-trip demolition derby, but it tracks with the franchise’s weirder streak.
Smith explained that they kept the character’s screen time and details scarce on purpose this season, sprinkling hints instead of dumping lore all at once. The idea was to lock in the mystery now and then go much further if Season 3 happens.
'In the finale, it was really important to say we are 100% confirming there is more to this guy.'
Translation: the well shot was not a one-off gag. If Peacock greenlights more episodes, expect the show to dive into Calypso’s origin rather than just tease it from the edges.
Until then, all we can do is wait for the renewal call. But if Season 2 was the warm-up for the supernatural side of Twisted Metal, Season 3 sounds like the full send.
