Twilight Fans Already Have the Perfect Bella Actress For TV Reboot In Mind
Fans are ready for Twilight to come full circle.
Last week, The Hollywood Reporter sent Twilighters into a frenzy by revealing that a new series based on Stephenie Meyer's bestselling novels was in the early stages of production at Lionsgate Studios. Fans were relieved to learn of Meyer's direct involvement in the project but found it hard to trust the studio with images of the protagonists.
The first thought Twilight fans had when they heard the news was which of the young actors could play the beloved characters. People feel that the portrayal of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen is the most important thing that can make or break the new series. And it looks like a perfect Bella has already been found!
Fancasts are always fun, but this one is especially exciting — you see, Twilight fans have chosen Mackenzie Foy to play Bella.
The 22-year-old actress and model has a long history with the vampire franchise. She was 10 years old when she played Bella and Edward's daughter, Renesmee, in Breaking Dawn – Part 2, so people feel that casting her as the new generation Bella would be a nice symbolic gesture that could draw old-time fans to the TV show.
'What a full circle moment it would be to have Mackenzie as Bella. I'm here for it,' a fan commented on the casting suggestion.
Despite only appearing in a few scenes, Mackenzie Foy has always maintained a special connection to the franchise. Back in 2018, she told ET that she tried to stay in touch with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. And in 2020, the young actress told Hollywood Life that she had very special memories of being on the set of the vampire saga and wouldn't say no to returning to the Twilight universe if given the opportunity.
In her post-Twilight years, Foy has proven herself to be a brilliant actress, starring in several hit projects including Interstellar, for which she received numerous award nominations, and Disney's The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. Naturally, fans have no doubt that Mackenzie is perfect for the role of Bella, and some of them are even ready to riot if she is not cast.
