Tougen Anki Episode 14 hits the detonator: Tokyo’s laid‑back, disguise-cloaked Oni candidates give way to the inevitable Shiki vs Mikado showdown — and the spark that sets it off blindsides everyone.

Episode 14 of Tougen Anki finally flips the table. The Oni kids have been coasting through Tokyo under those too-good disguises, but that calm was clearly temporary. The Shiki vs. Mikado clash has been looming, and now we know exactly what pulls the pin: a single, very public good deed.

Kougasaki saves two kids... and blows their cover

While Mudano and the other Oni candidates were on the move, Kougasaki spotted a truck barreling toward two children. The driver was literally asleep at the wheel. Kougasaki reacted fast and popped the truck's tires with his blood technique. The crash stopped the vehicle and saved the kids.

Heroic, yes. Also very not-like-Kougasaki, who usually reads as cold and detached. Mudano later points out the save wasn't wrong, but the method was risky. Translation: lift some weights so you don't have to burn blood every time something goes sideways.

The real problem: that flashy rescue flagged the Oni for the Momotaro. And once the Momotaro got wind of it, one of their scariest operators, Shinya, built a plan around it. They suspected Kougasaki might be tied to Shiki, one of the eight Kishin's kids, so they used him as bait. Smart play, cold execution. Kougasaki got snatched.

How Shinya runs a city like a surveillance rig

Here is where the episode gets both clever and creepy. When Kougasaki went to the hospital to check on the girl he saved, Shinya sent a crew of local thugs to grab him. The show then walks us through how Shinya keeps people in line and finds targets.

Shinya's ability: he seeds people with bacteria and monitors up to 36 of them at once. Anyone carrying his microbes becomes a walking security camera. The gang is terrified of him and doesn't even grasp how deep his reach goes.

Using that network, Shinya tracks Kougasaki, corners him, and uses the rescued girl as leverage, threatening her life if he doesn't comply. Kougasaki folds to protect her, and next stop is an interrogation room. Whether he holds the line on Shiki is a giant question mark.

The dominoes lined up

  • Kougasaki's public save puts the Oni on the Momotaro's radar.
  • Shinya captures Kougasaki to squeeze intel on Shiki, one of the eight Kishin's kids.
  • That same lead likely tips Mikado to Shiki's real identity. Natsu is just the mask.
  • By the end, Shinya and Mikado link up with two Tokyo-based Momotaro: Tsukuyomi Momoka and Osuke Momokado. We don't see their abilities yet, but they do not look like pushovers.

So what now?

The show is clearly steering us toward Shiki vs. Mikado, and the irony is rough: friendship meets secret identities, with Shinya pulling strings in the background. If you're wondering whether that friendship survives once Mikado figures out Natsu isn't Natsu... same. Not betting on a smooth conversation.
