Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio is flipping the script—after drawing cheers for the first time on RAW, this week he scored a surprise show of support from a female WWE star outside The Judgment Day.

Dominik Mysterio keeps finding new ways to make this Intercontinental title run weirdly compelling. Last week, the live RAW crowd actually cheered him for the first time. This week, he got a mid-match tip of the cap from someone you would not expect, then managed to get himself booked into a match he was trying to avoid. Also: he talked about life under the Mysterio microscope and how Australia went from censoring him to welcoming him. Busy week for Dirty Dom.

Charlotte Flair borrowed Dom's signature taunt mid-match

RAW closed with Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss defending the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against Bayley and Lyra Valkyria. After Bliss hit the hot tag, Flair ran wild, then stopped to flex and stick her tongue out. Yes, exactly like Dominik Mysterio. The same tongue-out biceps pose he has been using since his heel turn, and the same one he hit at WrestleMania 41 when he won the Intercontinental title.

Flair and Bliss sealed the win and kept the belts. When a 14-time WWE Women’s Champion is borrowing your taunt, that is a pretty loud nod. Coming a week after the crowd finally cheered him on RAW, it fits the slow pivot from boo magnet to, somehow, cheer magnet. A clip of Flair doing the pose made the rounds on X on October 28, 2025.

Dom tried to play chess with the contenders match. It backfired.

Dominik was clearly sweating the number one contender match for his Intercontinental title: Penta vs Rusev on RAW. He tried to nudge Judgment Day teammates Finn Balor and JD McDonagh into, let’s say, influencing the outcome. No dice. They shut him down, still salty about losing the World Tag Team Titles to AJ Styles and Dragon Lee, which they pinned on Dom.

Penta vs Rusev delivered until the closing chaos: El Grande Americano, Royal Americano, and Bravo Americano jumped in, the match was thrown out, and nobody was named top contender. Moments later, an angry Adam Pearce caught Dominik talking to Los Americanos backstage. Dom, who is currently holding both the WWE Intercontinental Title and the AAA Mega Championship, claimed he was scolding the masked trio for ruining the match. Pearce did not buy it and made the call: Dominik Mysterio will defend the IC Title in a Triple Threat against Penta and Rusev at Saturday Night's Main Event on November 1, 2025. WWE pushed the announcement on social the same night.

So, yes, the plan backfired. One challenger turned into two. The silver lining for The Latino Cheat: Triple Threats are no disqualification, and if anyone knows how to work a loophole, it is him.

On the weight of the Mysterio name

Dominik also spoke with Wide World of Sports about the whole legacy thing, and he did not sound like someone crushed by it.

"I don't really feel the pressure... When it comes to being a multi-generation family in the industry and having the Mysterio name and everything he's done, I never really took the pressure in a bad way. It almost motivated me and made me want to go out there and have fun. Now when people talk about the Mysterios, they talk about me as well which is really cool to see."

He added that the schedule makes it tough to stop and enjoy anything, because it is a 365-days-a-year grind, but he tries to savor the big ones: beating AJ Styles at SummerSlam and winning the title at WrestleMania were two he called out. Not bad for being five years in.

And about those Australian crowds: last year they were so aggressively anti-Dom that WWE had to black out parts of a stream for language. This year, he says those same fans treated him a lot warmer. That tracks with the recent reaction shift in the States.

Where it goes next

  • Saturday Night's Main Event, November 1, 2025: Intercontinental Championship Triple Threat - Dominik Mysterio vs Penta vs Rusev. No DQ by nature of the stip.
  • Charlotte Flair gave Dom's tongue-out flex a high-profile spotlight during her and Alexa Bliss' successful WWE Women’s Tag Title defense over Bayley and Lyra Valkyria in RAW's main event.
  • Finn Balor and JD McDonagh refused to meddle in the contenders match after losing the World Tag Team Titles to AJ Styles and Dragon Lee, which they blame on Dom.
  • Interference by El Grande Americano, Royal Americano, and Bravo Americano caused Penta vs Rusev to end in a no-contest, prompting Adam Pearce to book the Triple Threat.
  • Dominik walks into SNME as a double champ (WWE IC and AAA Mega) and, somehow, a guy the crowd is starting to cheer. For him, that might be the strangest twist of all.
