The Big Bang Theory is famous for its portrayal of nerdy scientists. It pokes fun at them while also exploring their more complex sides as human beings. Arguably, most of the show's comic relief comes from exploiting the funny nerd trope. But while all of TBBT's male leads were dorky, there was one character whose awkwardness surpassed all others. Rajesh Koothrappali is undoubtedly the most awkward character on the sitcom.

Lucy

Although she seems to be Raj's female counterpart, just as awkward and weird, Lucy is much tougher than Dr. Koothrappali. She knows her flaws and wants to eradicate them by forcing herself into uncomfortable situations. She and Raj develop a romance in season 6, but it ends when Lucy gets annoyed with Rajesh and dumps him. Many fans feel that she was too demanding and abrasive for him.

Emily

One of Raj's hottest girlfriends, she helped him overcome his fears and believe in himself. Rajesh was even willing to give up his family's fortune to stay with Emily. Unfortunately, she turned out to be a gold-digger who used Dr. Koothrappali for his family's money and gifts, so the romance was doomed.

Claire

A straightforward and defiant person, Claire was Raj's complete opposite, which made her perfect for him. The two characters balanced each other out. More importantly, the drama behind their relationship made it much more appealing. Unfortunately, Claire couldn't stand Raj's personality – she found him too meek and vain and decided to call it quits.

Emily Sweeney

Arguably the smartest of Raj's girlfriends, Dr. Emily was one of the most interesting characters on the show. She was intelligent, had a quirky sense of humor, loved horror movies, and was very attractive. Raj and Emily had a very satisfying romance over the course of several seasons, but she proved to be too demanding and manipulative. This may be why the relationship ended.

Cinnamon

Laugh all you want, but Raj had the best relationship with Cinnamon. She made him less self-centered and arrogant as he willingly took care of and pampered her. As a result, we saw a much more giving and considerate version of Raj, even though he may have come across as crazy like Howard's mother. So while Cinnamon wasn't technically Raj's girlfriend, she is the best woman in his life!
