Science fiction is one of the most popular genres of movies and TV shows. However, it's hard to find a decent sci-fi show. Here are five shows from the 2010s that you're sure to enjoy.

12 Monkeys (2015-2018, 4 seasons, 7.7 on IMDb)

A loose adaptation of the 1995 film of the same name, the show follows James Cole, a fugitive from the post-apocalyptic dystopian future who was charged with disobedience and given the opportunity to right his wrong by time traveling to the past to prevent the outbreak of a virus that wiped out most of humanity. In our time, Cole meets Dr. Cassandra Railly, a virologist studying the virus, and the two embark on a mission to stop the mysterious organization behind the virus, the Army of 12 Monkeys.

The OA (2016-2019, 2 seasons, 7.8 on IMDb)

This sci-fi supernatural drama tells the story of Prairie Johnson, a young woman who reappears after years of being reported missing, calling herself the OA and able to see despite having been blind before her disappearance. No one knows what happened to Prairie, and she won't tell the FBI or her family, saying only that she's been around all along. Instead, she gathers a group of five people to whom she reveals that she can open portals to other dimensions and asks them to help her find other missing people.

Orphan Black (2013-2017, 5 seasons, 8.3 on IMDb)

The Canadian sci-fi thriller centers on Sarah Manning, a con artist and orphan living in Toronto, with no family or friends and struggling to cope with the hostility of the world. One day, Sarah witnesses the suicide of a young woman who looks exactly like her. Without a second thought, Sarah takes on the woman's life and starts working as a police detective, only to discover that she's one of many human clones scattered across North America and Europe, and that someone is out to kill them all.

Westworld (2016-2022, 4 seasons, 8.5 on IMDb)

This dystopian sci-fi western from HBO needs little introduction, but here it comes. Based on the eponymous 1979 movie, Westworld is set in a technologically advanced, Wild West-themed amusement park that employs androids to tend to the needs of its human guests. Visitors to the park can do whatever they want, including killing the androids, who are simply repaired and their memories wiped clean so they can function again. However, it soon becomes clear that not every android loses its memory.

Dark (2017-2020, 3 seasons, 8.7 on IMDb)

Set in the fictional town of Winden, this German sci-fi thriller follows Jonas Kahnwald and Martha Nielsen as they investigate the sudden disappearance of a child. As they search for the truth, they uncover a time-traveling conspiracy involving four families and spanning four generations.
