The episode boasts the highest score of 8.5 on IMDb this season.

Episode 10 of the first season of the Frasier reboot premiered just a couple of days ago and has generated a ton of buzz. Unlike the rest of the revival, the finale of this season has received mostly positive reviews from both critics and viewers.

If you haven't seen it yet, here are just five reasons to do so as soon as possible.

Homage to John Mahoney

During its original eleven-year run, Frasier featured a number of affable characters, but few were as beloved as John Mahoney's Martin Frasier, the titular character's father. Unfortunately, the actor passed away in 2018 and was unable to reprise his role in this year's revival of the cult sitcom. But that didn't stop episode 10 from honoring J. Mahoney. It featured the very same dancing Santa that Martin had. More significantly, Frasier's sorrowful line – 'Dad, I really miss you' – said to the Christmas decoration was particularly heart-felt.

Character Dynamics

While the Frasier reboot lacks most of the fan-favorite characters from the original show, it has a plethora of new ones. And they shone brightly in the season finale. For example, Olivia and Moose's unexpected love arc reinvigorated the entire show, while Alan and David's newly minted rapport has audiences hoping for more intriguing character dynamics in future seasons.

Humor

Finally, the Christmas-themed finale was funny. It had the same flair of silliness that the original sitcom had. In particular, the jokes in the tenth episode were remarkably reminiscent of Niles' wordplay. Consider Olivia's joke about eggnog being overwhipped into a flan.

Christmas Ambience

First and foremost, let's keep in mind that the Season 1 finale is a festive episode. As such, it is extremely ambient and warm, filled with twinkling Christmas lights, fir trees, decorations, and holiday hustle and bustle. Since we're all in Christmas waiting mode, the finale is a special treat. What's more, it has the same charm as the classic Farsier's festive episodes, bringing back a whole range of emotions and memories.

Peri Gilpin's Cameo

Most importantly, you simply have to watch episode 10 for one reason. It features Peri Gilpin reprising her iconic role as Roz, Frasier's radio manager and best friend. In the finale, Roz paid a visit to Dr. Crane – much to his and the audience's surprise. And it was a very pleasant one indeed, as the characters seemed to have the same magnetic chemistry as in the original sitcom.
