Tomb Raider Live-Action Series Levels Up With New Series Regular

Prime Video's Tomb Raider series is quietly loading up before it even steps on set, and now it just added another face to the party.

So, who's new?

Martin Bobb-Semple has joined the live-action Tomb Raider show as a series regular. Variety says character details are locked down for now, which is very on brand for this production. If the name rings a bell, you probably know him as Orlando Johnson from The CW's All American: Homecoming. He also popped up in Dixi, Free Rein, Pandora, and One of Us Is Lying.

Sophie Turner is playing Lara Croft. The series comes from Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who is not just creating it but also co-showrunning with Chad Hodge. It has been in development at Prime Video since 2023 and officially got the green light in May 2024. The plan right now is to start filming on January 19, 2026. Yes, that date is a ways off, so manage your expectations on when we're actually going to see it.

"It’s not very often you get to make a show of this scale with a character you grew up loving. We'll see if Croft sticks the landing when the cameras finally roll.
