Marvel fans just got a wild new breadcrumb to obsess over: Tobey Maguire was spotted strolling through London, at the exact moment Avengers: Doomsday is filming down the street.
File this under tantalizing but very unconfirmed: Tobey Maguire popped up in London right as Marvel is shooting Avengers: Doomsday nearby. Is that proof he is in the movie? No. Is the timing suspicious? A little.
What actually happened
A fan posted a photo with Maguire in London on September 7, 2025, which immediately set off the cameo alarms because Doomsday has been filming at Pinewood Studios in England since April. Some of the cast also spent time in Bahrain shooting scenes back in May.

Why fans are connecting dots
It has been about five months since Marvel dropped a huge 26-person cast list for Doomsday, and since then: radio silence. Kevin Feige did tease that the full cast was not actually revealed. So yeah, a Spider-Man alum being spotted in the filming city is the kind of thing that keeps the rumor mill spinning.
A quick Maguire refresher
We last saw Maguire’s Peter Parker in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, where he was pulled into Earth-616 and teamed up with Tom Holland and Andrew Garfield. Thanks to Holland’s Peter making the big sacrifice play, Maguire’s Spider-Man went back to his own universe by the end.
What Avengers: Doomsday looks like so far
The Russos are back in the Avengers chair, directing from a screenplay by Stephen McFeely. The headline twist this time: Robert Downey Jr. returns to Marvel not as Tony Stark, but as Victor von Doom, aka Doctor Doom. Chris Hemsworth is also back, and Chris Evans is rumored to appear.

Here is the boring but honest answer: maybe. Being photographed in London is not confirmation of anything, and Marvel has not announced any new casting beyond that big list from months ago. But given the studio’s love of secrecy and Feige’s hint that the roster is not complete, it is not crazy to think a No Way Home vet could swing back in for a multiversal moment.
