Previously on To the Moon (episode 8 refresher)

Da-hae finally had something to celebrate: her mom Jung-lim turning 60 and her crypto wallet trending in the right direction. Then her estranged dad Yong-jik got hauled in for drunkenness, stumbled into the party like a siren, and outed her investments in front of everyone. Subtle, he is not.

That mess took an abrupt, darker turn when he collapsed and was diagnosed with lung cancer. Da-hae ping-ponged between anger and guilt, while flashbacks filled in the years of sacrifice from her mother that she has been trying not to think about. Elsewhere, Eun-sang reconnected with her ex-husband's family, and Ji-song had to navigate pressure tied to Wei Lin's visit. By the end, Da-hae chose to stop swinging at everyone and reconciled with both parents and Ji-woo. Not neat, but sincere.

What this show is

To the Moon adapts Jang Ryu Jin's acclaimed novel 'Let's Go to the Moon' and is co-directed by Oh Da Young and Jung Hoon. The ensemble is a good one: Lee Sun Bin, Ra Mi Ran, Jo A Ram, and Kim Young Dae. It is domestic drama with money nerves, career panic, and all the bruised feelings you would expect when secrets and savings collide.

The small but useful platform stuff

In South Korea, episode 9 airs on MBC at 9:50 PM KST and then heads to Wavve shortly after. Outside Korea, OnDemandKorea has it in the U.S. (ad-supported), and Prime Video carries it in select regions; in India specifically, it is available via the Channel K add-on (INR 79/month). If you stream across regions, that add-on quirk is the one to check first.

Bottom line: Episode 9 lands Friday, October 17 at 9:50 PM KST. If episode 8 was the explosion, episode 9 is where everyone decides what to do with the debris.
