TMNT: Splintered Fate Unleashes New DLC Hero — Free Update Incoming
Metalhead crashes into the award-winning roguelike brawler Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate on September 30, 2025, alongside a free update packed with new modes, fresh biomes, and more.
If Splintered Fate already had you wiping out baddies as the Turtles, it is about to hand you a laser-wielding wildcard. Super Evil Megacorp is dropping a big update and a new playable character at the same time, and the mix is a little wild in the good way.
Metalhead crashes the party (DLC)
On September 30, 2025, Metalhead joins Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate as paid DLC. He is the game’s first fully ranged hero, packing a laser gun, explosive landmines, and five new artifacts to shake up your builds. Yes, a ranged robo-turtle stomping around a roguelike brawler is exactly as chaotic as it sounds.
Free update brings Arcade Mode, new biomes, and more
Launching alongside Metalhead is a separate free update that does more than a few polish passes. You get audio and visual upgrades, plus a new Arcade Mode that leans fast, unpredictable, and replayable. It is designed for quick sessions (solo or co-op) with shifting modifiers that mess with your runs in interesting ways.
- Hex and Flex system: dynamic modifiers that remix each run with big swings and bigger chaos
- Three new biomes: Spectral Sewers, Astral Ship, and Manic Metropolis (yes, reality gets weird)
- New enemy family: Wraiths, multi-limbed creeps that fire homing shots and teleport
- Enemy Invasion events: the realm reshapes fights on the fly, throwing unexpected enemy combos at you
- Overall audio/visual upgrades to keep the award-winning roguelike brawler feeling sharper
Release timing and physical editions
Everything hits on September 30, 2025. That includes the paid Metalhead DLC and the free update, across all platforms the game is on.
Splintered Fate is also going physical the same day with a Deluxe Edition on Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One. If you want to go bigger, a Collector’s Edition lands a few weeks later on October 24, 2025.
