Think AHS: Delicate Is Bad? Stephen King Has a Different Opinion
The master of horror speaks favorably of the anthology series' new installment.
Summary
- Despite AHS's high status, season 12 has failed to impress fans.
- Recently, Stephen King commended the installment for its exciting storytelling.
- Many viewers have come to think better of Delicate as a result of the author's praise.
It's been a month since the fifth episode of American Horror Story: Delicate aired, and the beloved show went on a hiatus, but it remains the talk of the town among fans. While that may seem like a good thing, the reality is that viewers continue to pile on the show with scorching criticism for its blandness.
Since its debut on FX in 2011, AHS has become a fan-favorite staple of American TV, attracting hordes of fans. Additionally, the cult anthology series has been popular with several A-list actors who have portrayed various roles on the show. Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, Matt Bomer and Lady Gaga have all appeared on American Horror Story. Season 12, though, has so far failed to impress audiences. Recently, however, the show has gained an esteemed advocate whose opinion must be reckoned with.
Stephen King Endorses AHS: Delicate
While most fans of American Horror Story have slammed Delicate for its slow pace and lack of actual plot, the author of such horror hits as The Shining, It, and Salem's Lot seems to be impressed with the current installment of the show. In fact, King took to his page on Twitter, to praise Season 12 for the suspense it created over the course of five episodes.
Needless to say, many of the author's fans were surprised by his endorsement of AHS' 12th season, universally deemed mediocre. However, Stephen King's comment seems to have made many viewers reconsider their stance on Delicate.
The Audience Agrees That Season 12 Isn't Really Bad
Following King's praise, many fans have come out in support of the show.
'Right there with you! "American Horror Story/Delicate" really knows how to leave us on the edge of our seats. That cliffhanger was a masterclass in suspense,' one X (Twitter) user chimed in under the author's post.
At the same time, others, perplexed by Stephen King's comment, have come to the conclusion that your approach to watching Delicate is very important. Season 12, for example, is extremely bingeable, but it's too drawn out to be watched in a one-episode-a-week format.
'Just re-watched it as a binge. The escalation is more creepy and feels surprising every time. The chill factor is actually present instead of feeling like dead air,' one Reddit user wrote.
Perhaps you should give Delicate another chance and binge-watch it. As for the rest of the season, there have been no announcements.
