The Witcher Season 4 Drops Another Recast Bombshell After Henry Cavill Exit

Turns out Henry Cavill handing over Geralt's sword isn't the only major shakeup in The Witcher Season 4.
The Witcher is gearing up to ride back onto Netflix for Season 4, and the revolving door of monster hunters is still spinning. You already know about the big one: Geralt is changing faces. But he is not the only one.
Two Witchers, two new faces
The show, based on Andrzej Sapkowski's dark fantasy novels, took us to Kaer Morhen in Season 2, the home base of the School of the Wolf. That is where we met Vesemir, Geralt's mentor and all-around gruff father figure. Kim Bodnia played him in Season 2 and popped back in briefly in Season 3. Now, just like Geralt, Vesemir is getting recast for Season 4.
- Geralt of Rivia: Henry Cavill exited after Season 3; Liam Hemsworth steps in starting Season 4.
- Vesemir: Kim Bodnia portrayed him in Season 2 (and briefly in Season 3); the character will have a new actor in Season 4.
It is a notable shuffle. Vesemir is not a background extra; he is the guy who helped make Geralt who he is, so swapping that face is a real change for fans who latched onto Bodnia's take at Kaer Morhen. The new actor was not named in the info we have, but the takeaway is clear: Season 4 is leaning into a refresh, on purpose or otherwise.
Season 4 is on the way, recasts and all. When Netflix or the production finally plants a name on Vesemir 2.0, I will update you.
