The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 3 is about to take Norman Reedus' fan-favorite survivor on his wildest trip yet.

Daryl Dixon is not done with his passport. After last season finally put him back on screen with Carol in France, season 3 ships the duo to England and Spain. New faces, new trouble, and some very pretty Spanish backdrops. Here is the lay of the land.

Release date and how to watch

Daryl Dixon season 3 kicks off on Sunday, September 7, 2025 in the US on AMC, rolling out one episode a week. In the UK, season 2 arrived four days after the US on Sky and NOW. No official UK schedule yet for season 3, but expect a similar short delay. If you are catching up, seasons 1-2 are on Sky and NOW in the UK.

Where they filmed

Season 3 shot across Spain, hopping through Galicia, Aragon, Catalonia, and Valencia. The show has been teasing the new look with a steady drip of photos on the official Walking Dead channels, and yes, it looks like a travel brochure with zombies.

Who is in season 3

  • Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon
  • Melissa McBride as Carol - back in a major way after headlining season 2, The Book of Carol
  • Stephen Merchant as a new character billed as 'the last Englishman in England'
  • Eduardo Noriega (The Devil's Backbone)
  • Oscar Jaenada (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides)
  • Alexandra Masangkay (The Platform)
  • Candela Saitta
  • Hugo Arbues

What the new season is about

Daryl and Carol leave post-apocalyptic France and cross into England and then Spain. The mission is pretty simple on paper: find more survivors and, ideally, figure out a path back to America. On the ground, not so simple. The trailer shows at least one Spanish community that looks stable on the surface, until you meet the person in charge. Think crowns, rules, and the kind of order that makes your skin crawl.

'They call it security,' one Spanish local says. 'I call it extortion.'

So yes, expect power struggles, local politics, and a whole new set of enemies who do not care that these two have saved the world a few times.

Season 4 and what comes after

The show is already renewed for a fourth season, now filming in Spain, and it is reportedly the final chapter for this series. Norman Reedus put it like this:

'It is been a privilege to build this story for these characters, and we have so much gratitude for how it has been embraced. Your love and support have made every moment worth it. This finale is not just an ending; it is a celebration of what we have all shared together. Keep carrying that love forward - Daryl’s journey is far from over.'

Translation: this series may be ending with season 4, but do not be shocked if Daryl pops up in another Walking Dead spinoff down the road.
