The series follows Rentt Faina, a journeyman adventurer who has the worst day imaginable, dies, and wakes up as a skeleton. From there it is a grindy climb: get stronger, evolve, and claw his way back toward something like his old life. The tone is a mix of dark-fantasy grit, dry humor, and steady world-building — very much a slow-burn progression story rather than constant boss fights.

What season 2 is likely to cover

Season 1 adapted the early stretch of Yu Okano's light novels. If the anime keeps that pace, season 2 should pick up around Volume 4 and run into Volume 5. Expect more of Rentt's incremental power-ups as he inches closer to Mythril-class status, plus the next stage of his undead evolution — the books point toward a ghoul or even vampire path.
