The Truth Behind Ultimatum's James & Ryann Not Living Together in Real Life
It’s a case of ‘Marry or Move On’, but this pair haven’t even moved in together.
Season 2 of ‘The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On’ brought us 5 new couples ready to put their relationship to the test after one partner issued the other with a marriage ultimatum. After Lisa and Brian’s heated confrontation and premature departure, we were left with 4 couples ready to split up to find out if they really belong together.
One couple that captured fans’ attention, and then hearts, was Ryann and James.
Ryann, a former prom queen and radiologic technologist was the one who issued the ultimatum to her partner James, a grad student and research assistant. The pair met in high school and have been together ever since, but after 7 years together, Ryann seems to be the only one ready for marriage.
If Ryann is ready to spend forever with James, and they have already been together for so long, then why do the pair not live together?

The answer does not involve religious beliefs, money issues or a juicy scandal as many may think.
The reason that the couple live separately is also the reason that James is not ready to propose to Ryann: His ongoing education.
James moved away to finish studying and wanted to wait until after he had graduated to propose to Ryann, but their current living situation has worn their relationship down.
Whilst distance works for some, it causes tension in their relationship. From breakdowns in communications to trust issues that stem from James cheating on Ryann, the pair have struggled with their relationship and ongoing battle to form a deeper emotional connection. Their relationship was being put to the test even before they came into the show.
During the experiment, James paired with Jeriah and Ryann paired with Treyvon, and whilst they got along well, James remained physically and emotionally distant from Jeriah, despite her efforts to form a connection with him.
We’re not sure what has happened since filming ended. If they stayed together after, has their living situation changed? We’re not saying that living together will fix all their problems, but it seems like a step in the right direction towards bridging the physical and emotional gap in their relationship.
We’ll have to wait for August 30, for the release of the reunion episode, and we’ll find out who stayed together after the show, and whose relationships broke down for good.
