The Seduction Episode 2 is nearly here: reeling from Valmont’s betrayal, Isabelle pivots to seduce Gercourt and infiltrate Paris’s elite—here’s the release date, time, and where to watch.

Here we go: Episode 2 of The Seduction is almost here, and yes, Isabelle is already moving on to step two of her revenge tour. If you watched the premiere, you know she learned Valmont lied to her literally the day after their wedding. Now she is playing a much bigger game.

What Episode 2 is setting up

Isabelle is putting a plan in motion to seduce Gercourt while sliding into Paris high society. It is calculated, it is risky, and it is exactly the kind of 18th-century score-settling this show promised.

Quick refresher from Episode 1 (titled "Isabelle"): the newlywed glow lasted about 24 hours before she discovered Valmont had deceived her. So she went straight to his aunt, Rosemonde, and the two started plotting payback. Episode 2 is where that strategy starts to bite.

Release date and time

Episode 2 drops on Friday, November 21, 2025 at 12:00 AM PT / 3:00 AM ET.

  • Pacific Time: Friday, Nov 21, 2025 at 12:00 AM
  • Eastern Time: Friday, Nov 21, 2025 at 3:00 AM

Where to watch

You can stream The Seduction Episode 2 on HBO Max.

HBO Max is Warner Bros. Discovery’s streaming home base, with a big back catalog and a steady drip of originals. Classic series like The Sopranos, Game of Thrones, Succession, and True Detective live there, alongside newer headliners like Euphoria, Peacemaker, The White Lotus, and Creature Commandos.

The show in a nutshell

Also known as "Merteuil," The Seduction is a French-language period drama that serves as a prequel to Dangerous Liaisons, which itself comes from the classic French epistolary novel "Les Liaisons dangereuses." This one is created by Jean-Baptiste Delafon and stars Anamaria Vartolomei, Diane Kruger, Vincent Lacoste, and Lucas Bravo.

"Marquise de Merteuil, betrayed by Valmont, embarks on a daring journey to become Paris' leading courtesan."

Translation: Isabelle de Merteuil gets pushed to the bottom and decides to climb back up the hard way, using the very system that tried to shame her. It is sharp, petty, and fun in the way only a good prequel to Dangerous Liaisons can be.
