Fans of The Great British Bake Off won't have to wait much longer.

Bake Off season is upon us. The tent is back, the vibes are cozy, and yes, there will be 30 fresh challenges to stress-bake your way through from the sofa. Here is what you need to know before the mixers start whirring.

When and where to watch

The Great British Bake Off 2025 premieres Tuesday 2 September at 8pm on Channel 4. That is a touch earlier than the show usually kicks off (it tends to slide deeper into September), so get your tea and your calendar in order now.

Who is in the tent this year

Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond are back hosting, doing the hand-holding and the chaos control while the ovens do their thing. Judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith remain in charge of the technical terror and the handshake economy, and they are the ones setting those 30 new challenges.

Inside baseball: the judges on the standard (and the heat)

Paul Hollywood has now been judging Bake Off for 15 years, which is wild. He says he is not grading tougher just because he has been at it that long, but he does think bakers in general have leveled up since the show began and that the tasks have nudged harder to match.

"The standard's still the same, but the standard of baking overall since series one has got better and better... The challenges are a little more tricky. But they've all risen to the challenge and created things that have been really incredible."

Prue Leith, meanwhile, reports that filming did its usual British weather rollercoaster: first too cold, then too hot. She is apparently the only one happy when the tent turns into a sauna, which honestly feels on brand.

The short version

Bake Off returns Tuesday 2 September at 8pm on Channel 4. Noel and Alison host. Paul and Prue judge. Twelve new bakers. Thirty new challenges. Same tent, same chaos, earlier start. See you there.
