Golden Bachelor finale drops November 12, but the suspense may already be spoiled: Reality Steve says leading man Mel Owens chooses 62-year-old Peg Munson, making her both the show’s winner and the woman who wins his heart.

Spoiler alert for The Golden Bachelor Season 2 finale. If you want to go in fresh on November 12, back out now.

Still here? Alright. Word on the street is the decision is already made, and it is not the one a lot of viewers expected.

Who Mel reportedly picks

Per Reality Steve, Mel Owens ends Season 2 by choosing 62-year-old Peg Munson. That puts 60-year-old Cindy Cullers — a retired biomedical engineer — in runner-up territory.

Reality Steve teased the outcome on Instagram, and the comments were a whole mood: plenty of shock, people saying they never felt much spark between Mel and Peg, and more than a few insisting Mel seemed glued to Cindy all season. Some fans are even saying there is no real winner here, arguing Mel is not exactly the guy who is going to do the heavy lifting in a relationship. On the flip side, there is already a mini-campaign brewing to make Cindy the next Golden Bachelorette, which honestly would not be a bad call.

So, who is Peg Munson?

  • Retired Las Vegas firefighter who also worked as a fire investigator and bomb tech.
  • Former pro dancer who performed with the Las Vegas over-50 High Rollers dance team.
  • These days, her Instagram bio says she is a realtor and interior designer who handles remodels, and she shows off some of that work on her profile.
  • Divorced, with one daughter named Dakota. She has called herself a proud single mom and occasionally posts her daughter on social media.
  • Age 62, same ballpark as Mel.

Are Mel and Peg headed for a wedding?

According to The Sun, yes — and sooner than you might think. Their report says Mel and Peg are still engaged and that ABC has already made arrangements for a televised ceremony. The network apparently wants to do this one differently after the Gerry Turner/Theresa Nist wedding did not exactly have a fairy-tale ending. Translation: more input from the couple, less production micromanaging.

'Producers doubted if Mel was going to land the plane and pull through at the beginning... Even halfway through they were questioning if they made the right choice.'

That is from a source who also claims Mel started off difficult, then finally leaned into the process and delivered what they call a storybook ending. We will see.

As for Peg, she told US Weekly she has no set plan for a ceremony yet — just that she wants it big. Fair enough.

The bottom line

If the spoilers hold, Mel picks Peg, Cindy finishes second, and ABC is already plotting a wedding with a softer production touch than last time. Fans are split on the choice and actively stumping for Cindy to get her own season. We will find out how much of this sticks when the Season 2 finale hits November 12 on ABC and Hulu.
