What it is

The Copenhagen Test is a science fiction spy series with a nasty little twist: in a near-future setup, an intelligence analyst named Alexander Hale, a first-generation Chinese-American, realizes something is wrong with his perception. He is stuck in the basement of his ultra-secret agency, ominously nicknamed The Orphanage, and the clock is ticking on a loyalty test he never agreed to. The longer he sits with it, the more he suspects he might actually be the mole everyone is hunting — or at least that someone wants him to think he is.

The weird-but-cool part is the premise itself: instead of the usual bug-in-the-phone stuff, this one goes full sensory sabotage. If that sounds like a paranoia maze designed by your own employer, well... that is the point.

"When an analyst discovers his eyes and ears have been hacked, he is drawn into a controlled world designed by his agency to draw out their enemies."

How to watch

All eight episodes hit Peacock at once on December 27 at 3:00 a.m. ET / 12:00 a.m. PT. If you are new to it, Peacock is NBCUniversal's streaming service in the U.S., with a mix of movies, TV, originals, sports, and live news. The Copenhagen Test will stream there exclusively.

Why this might be worth your time

It is a spy story with a hard sci-fi angle, which you do not see every day, and the all-in-one drop makes it easy to ride the paranoia wave in one go. Also, the agency being called The Orphanage is a choice — dramatic, a little ominous, and very on-brand for a show where your own senses cannot be trusted.
