This year marks the thirtieth anniversary of Friends' debut on NBC. During its ten-season run, the sitcom aired two hundred and thirty-six episodes, and most of them still have high ratings on IMDb. But that doesn't mean they're true fan favorites.
Here are five episodes that Redditors consider the best.
The One with the Dirty Girl (8.4 on IMDb)
The sixth episode of Season 4 explores several important storylines. First and foremost, it follows Ross' attempt to date his fellow paleontologist Cheryl, who turns out to be very messy. So much so that her apartment is infested with rats that swarm under the piles of garbage, which repulses Ross. Then, Chandler's feelings for Kathy are further explored as he almost confesses his feelings for Joey's girlfriend. And Monica starts her catering business with Phoebe's help.
The One Where Ross Finds Out (8.9 on IMDb)
Episode 7 of Season 2 provides much-needed relief for fans tired of Ross and Rachel's will-they-won't-they situation, as she finally gets brave enough to confess her feelings for him and they seal their love with a passionate kiss. Meanwhile, Phoebe is played by a talented lothario who makes her beg him to have sex with her, and Chandler enlists Monica's help to lose weight but grows tired of her unwavering enthusiasm and methodically undermines her self-esteem to stop their workouts.
The One with the Two Parties (8.9 on IMDb)
In one of the most hilarious episodes, Episode 22 of Season 2, the six characters go to great lengths to keep Rachel's divorced parents, who both showed up out of the blue on her birthday, from running into each other. To save Rachel's birthday party, the gang decides to throw a separate party so the parents won't be in the same room, but the main characters end up having to distract the feuding exes as they move between parties.
The One Where No One's Ready (8.9 on IMDb)
The second episode of Season 3 is quite simple, as it only takes place in Monica and Rachel's apartment and doesn't feature any significant guest star cameos. The episode shows the group getting ready for an event. But when Ross arrives at the said apartment, he finds that no one is ready. Chandler and Joey fight over a chair, try to spite each other, and accidentally ruin Phoebe's dress. Ross upsets Rachel. And Monica gets an old voicemail from Richard that drives her crazy.
The One With The Embryos (9.4 on IMDb)
Episode 12 of Season 4 follows Phoebe who, after accepting her half-brother and his wife's request to be their surrogate, goes to the clinic to have embryos implanted in her. At the same time, Monica and Rachel risk it all in a game with Chandler and Joey, who want to get rid of their annoying poultry pets, but lose their apartment instead, beginning a period of swapped apartments for the gang.
