The Beekeeper 2: Expected Release Date, Cast Updates, and Everything We Know So Far

Jason Statham is back as Adam Clay in The Beekeeper 2, announced in February 2025 with Timo Tjahjanto directing—and now all eyes are on when the sequel will drop.
Jason Statham is suiting up again as Adam Clay. Yes, we are getting a sequel to 2024's 'The Beekeeper' — announced back in February 2025 — and the pieces are finally moving.
When to expect it
The studio hasn’t planted a flag on the calendar yet, but late 2026 is the realistic window. Here’s why: filming reportedly kicked off on September 26, 2025. The first movie shot September through December 2022 and hit theaters in January 2024 — about a year after wrap. If part two follows that same path (and it sure looks like it), a late 2026 release tracks.
Who’s making it
Timo Tjahjanto is directing, and Umair Aleem wrote the screenplay. That’s a switch from earlier plans — Kurt Wimmer was originally attached to write, but Aleem ultimately took over. Tjahjanto even marked day one of filming with an Instagram post, so he’s very much in the trenches on this one.
What the story might be
Plot details are locked up for now. Two directions are floating around:
1) A prequel angle that digs into Adam Clay’s past and why he walked away from the Beekeepers in the first place. That would scratch the origin-itch the first movie only hinted at.
2) A direct continuation where Adam turns his sights on the Beekeepers themselves and on Jessica Danforth — yes, the President of the United States and mother of Derek Danforth. In the first film, Adam uncovered the corruption that put Jessica in the White House, which makes her a pretty obvious next target.
Casting update
Statham is back as Adam Clay, and several familiar faces are returning. A couple of interesting additions, too — one of them feels tailor-made for a brawler-heavy sequel.
- Jason Statham as Adam Clay
- Emmy Raver-Lampman (returning)
- Bobby Naderi (returning)
- Jemma Redgrave (returning)
- Jeremy Irons (returning)
- Yara Shahidi (new)
- Pom Klementieff (new)
- Adam Copeland (new)
For an action sequel, that’s a pretty stacked lineup. Also worth noting: Klementieff and Copeland were recent additions, which usually means the sequel is leaning into its physical set pieces. Not a complaint.
Bottom line: cameras are rolling, the creative team is set, and unless production hits a weird speed bump, circle late 2026 for 'The Beekeeper 2'. I’ll update when the release date stops being a math problem and becomes an actual date.
