The Bear: Who is Jeremy Allen White's Ex-Wife and Why Did They Break Up?
Being an actress and single mother of two isn't easy for White's ex.
Season 2 of the critically acclaimed comedy-drama series The Bear has just been released, and fans are delighted to see Jeremy Allen White back on their screens as Carmy, a young chef trying to launch a new restaurant. And it seems that the actor's life is no less chaotic than his character's, as White has been having a feud with his wife lately, and the two are currently in the process of divorcing.
But who is White's ex-wife and why did they split up? Here's what we know about Addison Timlin.
Addison and Jeremy met in 2008 on the set of Afterschool, when they were both teenagers. Since then, they have remained close friends, gradually discovering feelings for each other. They welcomed their first daughter in 2018, and the second one was born in 2020, a year after the couple tied the knot.
Like her ex, Addison Timlin is also an excellent actress with a pretty good track record. Fans may remember her for her roles as Colleen Lunsford in the 2016 dark comedy Little Sister and movie star Sasha Bingham in the iconic series Californication. Her next project is the horror movie Blackout, which is currently in post production.
The couple looked very much in love and spoke incredibly warmly of each other before their divorce proceedings began. After Jeremy's Critics' Choice Awards for his role in The Bear in January 2023, Timlin wrote how proud she was of her husband.
Unfortunately, it was Addison who filed for divorce in May 2023. The reasons for their separation were not disclosed, but sources close to the couple deny that it was because of adultery or anything like that. According to them, the point of tension was White's busy schedule in Chicago, which prevented him from spending enough time with his family.
Initially, Timlin asked for custody of their two children, which was unrelated to the division of assets. For White, she asked for visitation. However, the latter challenged that by asking for joint custody.
On May 12, The Bear star's ex-wife published a post on her Instagram account in which she spoke emotionally about the difficulties of being a single mother. After commenters criticized her words, pointing out that Jeremy continues to be involved in parenting, Addison edited the post, adding, 'Co-parenting is not how I pictured it.'
Hopefully, the two will remain friends after their divorce is settled and will continue to raise their daughters together. After all, other star couples like Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are co-parenting their kids successfully, and White and Timlin seem to have enough respect and love for each other to make this arrangement work.
