Ted Lasso Star Reveals Season 4 Filming Status — And His Future Plans
Cameras may already be rolling on Ted Lasso Season 4, as star Nick Mohammed teases production while staying coy about his Nate Shelley future.
If you have been waiting for news on more Ted Lasso, here is the latest: Nick Mohammed is talking without really saying anything, and somehow that still tells us a lot.
What Nick actually said (and what he carefully didn't)
In a new chat with Collider, Mohammed — Nate Shelley himself — would not confirm if he is in Season 4. He did, however, give away that cameras are rolling on the next chapter and that he has been around the cast lately. So yes, something Lasso-adjacent is filming right now, even if he is keeping his name out of it for the moment.
"I think sworn to secrecy is about right."
He also tossed out a surprisingly specific tease: he knows it is about "a whole different set of characters." Then quickly shut the door with a "We'll have to see." Classic.
So... is Nate back or not?
He would not say. Mohammed dodged a straight answer about his return, but he did make it clear he has been socializing with several cast members and that production is underway now. Everyone is "very well," he added, which is lovely and also not the scoop you were hoping for. Make of that what you will.
The earlier clue you might have missed
Back earlier this year, Mohammed postponed several dates on his Show Pony comedy tour because of filming commitments. He did not name the project, asked fans not to speculate, and threw in this line for good measure:
"The last thing I want is for people to be going mad."
Given today's coy update, that scheduling conflict reads a little louder now.
Meanwhile, over on another Apple show...
Even if he is zipped up on Lasso, Mohammed is definitely on Apple TV+. He turns up in Slow Horses Season 5 as London mayor Zahar Jaffrey, a politician trying to survive a heated re-election campaign. Different vibe, same platform.
- He says he is "sworn to secrecy" on Ted Lasso Season 4.
 - He claims the new chapter centers on a different set of characters.
 - He would not confirm or deny his own return.
 - He says they are filming now and he has been around the cast.
 - He postponed Show Pony tour dates earlier this year due to filming, but did not say for what.
 - He will appear in Slow Horses Season 5 as London mayor Zahar Jaffrey.

Bottom line: Mohammed is not spilling, but he is definitely hinting. Ted Lasso universe activity is happening. Whether Nate is part of it — we'll have to see.
