Ted Lasso's Zava Actor is Married to Agents of SHIELD & Severance Star
The third season of Ted Lasso introduced a new character that immediately appealed to both soccer fans and fans of personal drama — Zava, a gifted but overconfident soccer player, based on the famous AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimović.
And as Zava has evolved from an self-centered footballer to a caring team player, viewers have grown to like both the character and Maximilian Osinski, the actor portraying him.
The Austrian-born actor has been doing film and TV work for almost 15 years, but the recent Ted Lasso role has been his major career breakthrough to date. Interestingly, Osinski is not the only creative type in the family since his wife is also an actress — and she is perhaps a bigger star than he is!
As it turns out, Ted Lasso's Zava is married to Dichen Lachman, a Nepali-Australian actress, whom you may know from her roles in the sci-fi shows Dollhouse (as Sierra) and Neflix's Altered Carbon (Reileen Kawahara).
Both of these series deal with the issues of consciousness and how corporations control people's minds to manipulate them.
Since 2022, Lachman has also starred in the original Apple+ sci-fi thriller Severance, which follows the story of the employees of Lumon Industries — a biotech company that creates a technology to separate people's memories of their work life from their personal experiences.
Severance has been critically and commercially acclaimed, winning several prestigious awards and scoring rave reviews from the audience. Lachman plays the enigmatic Ms. Casey, who conducts so-called 'wellness sessions,' which are experiments to observe the behavior of 'severed' employees.
But wait — there's another exciting gig that Dichen Lachman and her husband Maximilian Osinski did together. Both spouses starred in the MCU series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which focuses on a secret organization whose agents control the world order through espionage and counter-terrorism.
Osinski played Agent James Davis, and Lachman portrayed the villain Jiaying, an Inhuman who can drain life force from people.
The spouses' characters were featured in different seasons and never appeared together in any one scene, but it's still very cool that the actors were able to land roles on the same project.
In addition to being great actors, Osinski and Lachman are simply a wonderful, supportive couple. The two regularly post photos on social media, giving their fans a glimpse into their personal lives and celebrating each other's professional achievements.
