TBBT Guest Star Has Us Fooled Looking Unrecognizable in 2 Different Roles
Only a few people recognised this performer.
Billy Bob Thornton, Katee Sackhoff, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Stan Lee, and even Stephen Hawking are only some of the big-name cameos featured on The Big Bang Theory, the iconic sitcom about Pasadena geeks and their friends, over its 12-year-run. They were small roles, but each was hilarious enough to be remembered for years to come.
Among the many famous cameos, there are some that only the most ardent fans of these performers would have noticed. It's not that they were dull or anything. On the contrary, their roles, though small, were so superbly executed that it was even difficult to figure out who was behind them. We will discuss one of them (or, rather, two of them) in this article.
You may recall the episode from the second season when Howard and Raj watch America's Next Top Model and decide to locate the house where the show's contestants live. They eventually find it, and the episode ends with the two models welcoming the pair, pretending to be TV repair technicians, into their home.
The house's residents were also real-life models, members of ANTM's Cycle 11. They are Samantha Potter and Lio Tipton (who uses they/them pronouns). The latter is not only a successful model but also an accomplished actor, having appeared in such notable films as Crazy, Stupid, Love, in which they portrayed a babysitter who falls in love with Steve Carell's character, as well as Warm Bodies and Two Night Stand.
All this demonstrates how versatile an actor Tipton is. That is also evidenced by the fact that when they appeared in a later episode of TBBT, nobody recognised them!
That happened in a Season 9 episode. In the plot, Sheldon, having temporarily split up with Amy, decides to find a new girlfriend and screens candidates by giving them puzzles about science and pop culture that no normal person could ever hope to answer. The person who answers all the questions correctly is to arrive at Sheldon's place at 10:00 p.m. sharp.
At the very last moment, somebody does show up. And we trust you will already have guessed who that was: the perfect candidate partner for the future Nobel Prize winner is played by Lio Tipton, who is completely unrecognisable in this scene as they sport short hair in it.
Who knows, maybe they would have continued playing Sheldon's girlfriend if he had not abruptly slammed the door in their face because they were late and found atomic spectroscopy boring.
