Taylor Swift Supports Sophie Turner Amid Joe Jonas Divorce Drama

Rumors had been circulating for months, but what happened on September 5 still shocked many fans. After four years of what appeared to be a happy marriage, Joe Jonas filed for divorce from Sophie Turner. The separation was fraught with drama, with sources alleging that Jonas complained about Sophie's fondness for partying while the middle JoBro grappled with the responsibilities of taking care of their two young children.

Although both parties released a joint statement on Instagram, stating the divorce was 'mutual and amicable,' it was undoubtedly a challenging time for Sophie. That makes it all the more touching that Turner was spotted in New York City with Taylor Swift on Tuesday night, September 29, heading to the Italian restaurant Via Carota.

While we can't say they're best friends, Sophie and Taylor have known each other for a long time, and their shared experiences would undoubtedly have strengthened their bond.

Friendship with Taylor Swift

Ms. Americana dated Jonas for a few months in 2008. She later revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that Jonas ended their relationship over the phone. Her song Forever & Always from the album Fearless is about him.

Later, Taylor was apparently able to overcome the pain.

'I remember I wrote it [Invisible String] right after I sent an ex a baby gift. [Laughs] I was just like, "Man, life is great. This is a full signifier that life is great,"' she told her co-writer Aaron Dessner. Joe and Sophie's daughter Willa was born exactly two days before the release of the Folklore album, which includes the song.

In 2021, she released the re-recorded album Fearless (Taylor's Version), and the song Mr. Perfectly Fine was eerily reminiscent of Forever & Always, leading fans to speculate that the track was also about Joe. Ironically, Sophie wore a Mr. Perfectly Fine bracelet when she appeared on the Jonas Brothers' The Tour earlier this year.
