One of the most popular actors in the One Chicago franchise, Taylor Kinney, is taking a leave of absence for personal reasons.

And while it's unknown when he'll return to Chicago Fire, now's a good time to find out what the actor's favorite scene on the show is.

The series about the staff of Firehouse 51, in hindsight, is filled with both comedic and dramatic elements. There are moments of friendship and rivalry, the loss of loved ones and colleagues, efforts to cope with tragedy and move on, and the everyday situations faced by firefighters and paramedics.

So, what is Kinney's all-time favorite scene? During One Chicago Day 2022, the actor who played Kelly Severide finally shared his favorite moment:

"My favorite scene of all the years would have to be the scene where Casey and Severide are on top of the building closing a gas line," Kinney remembers, referring to an eleventh episode from season 6.

In the last quarter of the episode, the firefighters must find the source of the gas leak in the building. This has to be done by none other than friends with strained relationships, Kelly Severide and Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer). Once up on the roof, they hold the gas line valve to prevent an explosion until the other firefighters evacuate the building.

The scene was tense, not only for the audience, but for the characters themselves! Shortly before the events, the characters had a conflict of interest, so not only the risky situation, but also their relationship added to the suspense. As a result, at Casey's suggestion, after waiting for a full evacuation, they both release the valve and jump into a nearby river to escape the explosion.

At this point, the episode ended, and Chicago Fire was interrupted for a month due to the Winter Olympics. Fans clutched their hearts in excited anticipation:

"Severide though...how much danger is he in? I swear, I'm going to be so bothered if they kill him off.," Reddit user littlecatladybird says.

Now we know that the character is fine, but how worried the fans were after watching!

The episode added a fabulous dynamic to the relationship between the two characters, and it was great to hear that Kinney thought this particular scene was his favorite. Although season 12 has not yet been announced, hopefully Taylor Kinney will return to the series.
