Swifties Go Wild Over Taylor Swift's Rumoured Memoir Release This Summer
As it turns out, one of the most anticipated theories is just a rumour.
Taylor Swift's fans, known for their devout loyalty, find inspiration in the singer's evocative lyrics and appreciate the way she supports her fans, sometimes even financially.
This close bond with their idol keeps them eagerly anticipating her every move.
When a rumour circulated that Swift would be releasing an autobiographical book, fans plunged into a frenzy. They scrutinised her social media posts for hidden messages and speculated that the announcement date could be a significant milestone in Taylor's life. However, an unexpected twist revealed the rumours to be unfounded. As it turns out, it's not the Swifties but the ARMY who should rejoice!
The speculation originated from a video posted on Good Neighbor Bookstore's TikTok account. The store owner suggested that Macmillan Publishers were releasing a book on 9 July, a date he associated with Swift's song, Last Kiss. This theory was fueled by the forthcoming release of a re-recorded version of the Speak Now album, which features the song.
Before the truth emerged, the bookstore deleted the video at the publisher's behest. Yet, the short-lived clip incited a frenzy among the Swifties, leading many to preorder the unnamed book en masse.
'I watched the TikTok before it got taken down and believe it enough to have just preordered the e-book version from Amazon,' somebody said.
The escalating confusion compelled the publisher to unveil the mystery book, despite an intended announcement on 13 June, marking 13 years since the original Speak Now release.
The book in question turned out to be a memoir by the South Korean boy band BTS, co-authored by music critic and journalist Kang Myungseok. The choice of 13 June was intended to celebrate BTS's tenth anniversary.
'This is probably the most hilarious and also saddest example of how absolutely unhinged Taylor’s fans can be, but I also think this should fall on that bookstore that made the announcement,' one of the 'victims' said.
In response, the bookstore issued an apology, cancelled all preorders, and refunded the money. Although the incident left those who appreciate both Swift and BTS relatively unfazed, it served as a testament to the unwavering loyalty of Taylor Swift's fans.
