A fan's decision to film Sophia and her friends at a bar made a lasting impression on the Chicago P.D. star.

Let's face it, we all enjoy following the lives of public figures, regularly checking their social media posts, interviews, and photo releases. However, it's crucial to remember that celebrities, too, are people who have a right to privacy.

Unfortunately, some fans believe that since certain aspects of celebrities' lives are exposed to the public, they can overstep boundaries without consent. Remember, the essence of humanity is mutual respect, not treating people like commodities!

This time, the victim of the never-ending story of rude and disrespectful treatment was One Tree Hill and One Chicago franchise star Sophia Bush.

She opened up about an incident that convinced her not to prioritise her public image over her boundaries, seeing how some people have a tendency to not even see her as a person.

According to Bush, she was at a bar with some friends when she noticed one of the customers filming her as if she were an exotic animal.

Sophia politely confronted the man, 'Hi, I’m a person. I’d like to shake your hand. My name is Sophia. You’re making me really uncomfortable, man,' Sophia said to him. 'I’ve asked you to stop. I’m a girl in a bar. You are a man I do not know. I don’t wanna be videoed on your phone. And my friends don’t either. Can you please stop?'

Despite the actress politely requesting that the man stop recording, as it made her and her non-celebrity friends uncomfortable, he argued that they were in a public place.

Unfortunately, he failed to realise that not everything in life hinges on legal technicalities; instead, a foundation of basic human decency and respect for others should guide our actions.

'I watch your show, so I pay your f---ing salary. You are a piece of meat to me,' the creep replied.

A common perception of media personalities is that they exist solely for entertainment purposes and, thus, should share every aspect of their lives without question. The issue is particularly prevalent for female celebrities, who often endure daily subjugation under patriarchal scrutiny.

We can only hope that Sophia Bush will not encounter such an appalling situation again and that fans will come to understand that a no really means no.
