In The Forge on Roblox, runes are the ultimate upgrade, turning your weapons, pickaxes, and armor into powerhouses. Want them fast? Hunt down elite enemies like Reapers and cash in on the buffs.

If you are diving into The Forge on Roblox, runes are the secret sauce. They bolt straight onto your weapons, pickaxes, and armor and turn basic gear into something that actually pulls its weight. The trick is getting them. That means hunting specific enemies, living with RNG, and knowing where to look so you are not wasting a Saturday night chasing the wrong skeleton.

How runes work (and how to check who drops what)

Runes are enchantment items you slot into gear for buffs. You do not craft them; you beat them out of certain enemies — think Reapers, Skeletons, zombies, and a few spicy variants.

Before you start grinding, open your Inventory, go to Index, then Enemies. Click an enemy and the game shows which rune that enemy can drop. Example: Bomber Skeletons in the Forgotten Kingdom and Delver Zombies in Stonewake's Cross can both drop the Miner Shard.

Important reality check: rune drops are not guaranteed. Every listed enemy only has a chance to cough one up. For Bomber Skeletons, the Miner Shard is roughly a 1-in-15 shot. Yes, it is a grind. Bring a podcast.

Who drops which rune (and where to find them)

  • Miner Shard (Pickaxe): Bomber Skeletons (1/15) and Delver Zombies (1/35). Bomber Skeletons live in the Forgotten Kingdom's Ruined Cave areas — Descent's Beginning, Crumbling Halls, Sunken Cells. Delver Zombies hang out in Stonewake's Cross caves — Inner Cave and Deep Cave.
  • Flame Spark (Weapon): Deathaxe Skeleton (1/35), Reaper (1/25), Blazing Slime (1/12), Elite Deathaxe Skeleton (1/25). All found in the Volcanic Depths of the Ruined Cave.
  • Blast Chip (Weapon): Bomber (1/10). Look in the Forgotten Kingdom's Ruined Cave areas.
  • Venom Crumb (Weapon): Blight Pyromancer (1/15). Found in Deep Cave.
  • Drain Edge (Weapon): Reaper (1/12). Found in the Volcanic Depths of the Ruined Cave.
  • Ward Patch (Armor): Zombie, Elite Zombie, and Brute Zombie. Found across Stonewake's Cross.
  • Briar Notch (Armor): Deathaxe Skeleton (1/50) and Elite Deathaxe Skeleton (1/40). Again, the Volcanic Depths of the Ruined Cave.
  • Rage Mark (Armor): Elite Rogue Skeleton (1/25). Also in the Volcanic Depths of the Ruined Cave.

The runes actually worth your time

If you are prioritizing, start with Miner Shard. Each Miner Shard rolls one of four mining bonuses: increased luck (5–16%), extra ore yield (3–10% chance), faster mining speed (4–12%), or increased mining power (8–15%). The luck and yield versions are the real progression boosters, so plan to farm multiple shards until you land the perks you want.

Next up: Blast Chip. It pops explosive blasts around whatever you are hitting, which makes clearing groups way faster. It is loud, messy, and extremely effective.

Then grab Drain Edge. It returns a chunk of the physical damage you deal as healing on hit, which is exactly what you want for longer boss fights and general survivability. Pair it with decent armor and you can stay in the mix much longer.

Final thoughts

The drop rates can be stingy, but the Index tool makes target farming much less painful. Check the enemy, check the drop, and go straight to the right cave. Once you nail Miner Shard for your pickaxe and pick up Blast Chip and Drain Edge for combat, the whole game feels less like pushing a boulder uphill and more like you actually meant to be here.
