Universal returns to Oz with a brand-new trailer and poster for Wicked: For Good, teasing a spellbinding finale to the smash Broadway musical adaptation.

Universal just hauled us back to Oz with a new three-minute trailer for 'Wicked: For Good' — the second and final chapter of Jon M. Chu's two-part take on the Broadway smash and Gregory Maguire's novel. They also dropped a fresh poster, because of course they did.

What the trailer is selling

Part Two picks up with Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) officially branded the Wicked Witch and hiding out in the Ozian forest. She is still fighting for Oz's Animals and trying to blow up the Wizard's carefully manufactured image (yes, that Wizard — Jeff Goldblum). Meanwhile, Glinda (Ariana Grande) has become the sparkling mascot of Goodness, living large at the Emerald City palace. Under Madame Morrible's watch (Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh), Glinda is deployed as a kind of national comfort blanket, reassuring everyone that the Wizard has it all under control.

Glinda's celebrity keeps rising, and she is prepping a showstopper of an Ozian wedding to Prince Fiyero (Olivier winner and Emmy/SAG nominee Jonathan Bailey). The problem: she is still haunted by her split with Elphaba. She tries to broker peace between her former friend and the Wizard, it goes badly, and the two women drift even further apart. Collateral damage hits Boq (Tony nominee Ethan Slater) and Fiyero in a big way, Nessarose (Marissa Bode) ends up in danger, and then a certain girl from Kansas literally drops into the plot.

"As an angry mob rises against the Wicked Witch, Glinda and Elphaba will need to come together one final time."

That is the emotional spine here: if these two can actually see each other clearly — no spin, no denial — maybe they change themselves, and maybe they change Oz. For good. Yes, the title is doing double duty.
