If plain oatmeal feels tired, try this fruit salad with oats instead. It brings spring energy: light, fresh, and quietly filling. Apple, prunes, and orange deliver fiber; oats add slow-burning carbs; together they act like a gentle reset for your system. You are looking at about 15 minutes of hands-on time plus an hour for the oats to soak. It works for breakfast or a legit in-between meal when you want something clean and satisfying.
Ingredients for 4
- 1 green apple
- 1 orange
- 50 g pitted prunes
- 2 tbsp rolled oats
- 100 g fat-free yogurt or kefir
- 1 tsp honey
How to make it
Combine the oats with the yogurt or kefir and let them soak for at least 1 hour. They should soften and thicken into a creamy base.
Cover the prunes with warm water and let them plump up while the oats soak.
Peel the apple, remove the core, and slice it thin. Take the orange and cut away the peel and white pith to expose the flesh, then separate the segments so there are no membranes left. Squeeze the juice from the remaining orange bits over the apple slices to keep them bright.
Drain the prunes and chop them into small pieces. In a bowl, mix the softened oats and dairy with the apple, orange segments, and prunes. Spoon in the honey, fold everything together, and serve right away.
Tip: Go for moderately tart, juicy apples. Granny Smith or Golden both play well here.
