A fan was lucky to have a glimpse into Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story and now shares spoilers.

Beware! Major spoilers ahead for the premiere episode of the Bridgerton prequel.

Twitter user @kathonytulips recently posted a thread that revealed some fascinating details about the first chapter of Queen Charlotte's story. Here's what they shared.

Charlotte/George Relationship

Fans already know that the Bridgerton spin-off revolves around the love story of young Queen Charlotte and King George, and spoilers say their relationship is off to a rocky start.

The first episode features the couple's wedding, but the young king is apparently not so keen on the arranged marriage, so he gets Charlotte her own place, separate from his residence. This arrangement upsets Charlotte, who probably expected more respect and consideration from her husband. The young woman makes her concerns known to George and he lashes out at her, foreshadowing his future mental problems.

Lady Danbury

Agatha Danbury is an important part of the Queen Charlotte story, and of course, she makes an appearance in Episode 1. The marriage between Lord and Lady Danbury is shown exactly as the older Agatha described it — a prison sentence. The first episode has a brief sex scene between the spouses, though it's not graphic, with only facial expressions from Agatha and moans from Lord Danbury.

Older Lady Danbury, as well as older Lady Violet, only appear in the episode for a few-second scene.

Royal Lineage Situation

The scenes in the present-day Bridgerverse focus on Queen Charlotte's relationship with her children and her attempt to sort out the royal line. In the first episode, the Queen loses her only legitimate grandchild, Princess Charlotte, the daughter of the Prince Regent and his estranged wife.

This makes Charlotte angry that she has no true heir to the crown, and she goes after her daughters for not having children and her sons for having mistresses and only illegitimate children.

Lady Whistledown

The fan-favorite Lady Whistledown is part of Queen Charlotte, and Julie Andrews still narrates her. In the very first episode, Whistledown reveals some pretty nasty things about the Queen and her family, and there seems to be no way to let her go without consequences as Whistledown's identity is exposed in Bridgerton Season 3.

Other Spoilers

  • Older Lady Violet appears with two grandchildren.
  • There is a mention of the Basset family.
  • The Smythe-Smith family from the Julia Quinn universe is mentioned, and they are of color.
  • Beyoncé's 'Halo' is the soundtrack for the episode.
